A leader steps up in times of crisis and is able to think and act creatively in difficult situations. A leader establishes a clear vision, then shares that vision with others so that they can willingly follow. Scouting encourages youth to learn and practive leadership skills. Every Scout has the opportunity to participate in both shared and total leadership situations. Understanding the concepts of leadership helps each Scout accept the leadership roles of others and guides them toward better citizenship.
